A team of Fox Rothschild attorneys led by Atlanta-based Partner Leron E. Rogers won an award of more than $3.2 million in damages, attorney fees and costs for Grammy nominated and multiplatinum artist Bobby Ray Simmons, Jr. — known professionally as “B.o.B” — and Bobby Ray Touring in a dispute with several corporate entities over misappropriated funds and improper business practices related to a dispute with Simmons’ former manager.

The firm filed a complaint on behalf of our clients on July 16, 2021, asserting claims against the defendants for breach of contract, fraud and unjust enrichment and seeking various forms of relief. The Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia granted multiple motions to compel, orders on attorney’s fees and injunctions throughout the case as a result of defendants’ conduct, including entering orders freezing all known accounts of defendant Brian Richardson, known professionally as “B-Rich,” highlighting the contentious and unreasonable efforts expended by the plaintiffs and their counsel during the proceedings.

Following a July 2025 damages hearing, the court in August entered a final judgment against defendants B Rich Entertainment, No Genre Records, Inc. and Barbecue On Main, Inc., awarding Simmons compensatory damages for overpaid management commissions, misappropriated royalties, funds deposited into unknown accounts and a 2021 BMI advance that was withheld, along with granting our clients an award of attorney’s fees and litigation costs.

“This judgment sends a clear message that our clients’ rights will be vigorously protected and that misconduct will not go unanswered,” Rogers said. “We are fiercely dedicated to protecting our clients’ interests.”

The judgment closes the case involving the corporate defendants, while the litigation against the individual defendant in the case, Brian Richardson, remains open due to bankruptcy proceedings.

In addition to Rogers, the Fox team included New York-based partner Paul N. Bowles and Atlanta-based associate John T. Rose who provided extensive assistance throughout the lawsuit.

Atlanta-based associate Brittany Brown also aided in the action, as did associate Samuel R. Finkel of the firm’s Philadelphia office, who assisted with recent filings related to the award on attorney’s fees and litigation costs.

Client service specialist Antonia Acevedo provided administrative support throughout.
